I teach students to connect the bottom of their voices to the top so that there is one complete voice with no holes or yodels in the progression. Range will improve. Pitch will be more accurate.
Another benefit to these lessons is that
voices won’t tire as easily. There will
be no pain in the throat, larynx or jaw.
Singing will become relaxed, unforced and natural; as easy as
conversing.
These lessons will be of benefit for any
type of music students wish to perform.
Once students learn to sing correctly they can apply this knowledge to
everything from country to classical, and all forms between.
It is important to note that learning to
sing well is a PROCESS. We are all
continually learning, improving, and sharing new “AHA” moments with each other.
It is an exciting process, but it is ongoing. Students shouldn’t expect to achieve their goals within a
specified time period. All voices are
different, and each voice adapts to the muscle changes within varying time
frames.
There will be periodic recitals. Students will be encouraged to participate
though it is not mandatory. We will
work on different songs while building confidence. Performance will also boost confidence.
Two-day camps are also offered, usually
once a year. Students will learn to set
up a PA, use a mic, stage presence, and even how to sing with live music. There is a charge for these camps to cover
the musician, time, and tools. Again,
this is not mandatory, but is recommended for the more serious students.
